| Subject | Ftp backup function to append date/time |

| Message | Currently I send a multiple static file via FTP for our EDI process. This is required as some customers
identify incoming files by a customer number. On our side we like to keep track of the history but appending the date and time to the file and storing it in a history folder. Right now we work around this by an FTP/MOVE/chain combination. If the backup function in the FTP task was able to append the data/time to the backup file this would reduce the number of tasks in our list by 2/3 rd. |

Hi Jason, Thanks for using Automize. 1) If you are using a Get and If only the backup files need to be archived with timestamp and not the original, then you can simply switch the backup and local folders. 2) If you are using the Put and need to backup then this does not work and you need a move task also. 3) This was requested previously and discussed by us, but we decided against adding this option to an already complicated task, because of the copy task capability. -- Sincerely, Melvin Desilva Hitek Software |
