| Subject | Can srvany.exe be used to start Automize as service? |

I have a question about the 'NT service module'. I have a customer running your 'Automize' software on a Windows server 2003. They would like to run the 'Automize' without logging into the server everyday. I understand that Microsoft have a 'srvany.exe' in the 'Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools' to launch a program as a service. Can it be used instead of the 'NT service module' to run 'Automize' as a sevice? Best Regards, |

Hi Rick,
1) We had tested with srvany.exe a long time back..It could start as a service..but on logout the java machine always shuts down, even if the executable is started as a service. so we had to develop our own. 2) The NT service module checks to make sure that the sscheduler is always running and restarts it after it shuts down on log off.. -- Sincerely, Melvin Desilva Hitek Software |
