| Subject | How to do PGP / GPG encryption on a file |
| Date | 01/19/2006 |
| Message | We have been running a DOS script for a few
file transfers that does PGP / GPG encryption on a file prior to transfer.
Our solution is not perfect, in that it is a one way process; we can
automate the encryption, but there is no easy way to automate the
decryption. Frankly, I would rather not trust this process to the
limited error checking of a command line process. Based on recent
discussions, I can see the writing on the wall regarding encryption and
HIPAA regulations, and I believe that we are going to be asked to
provide this service more and more often
All this being said, do you believe that a pgp/gpg task could be created for automize ? I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this matter. Thank you, |

Hi,
Thanks for using Automize and your continued input and suggestions for the product. Yes, we are going to add Encryption and Decryption tasks into version 7.x. We will start working on 7.x in Sep 05, for release around Mar 06. I have no idea what the tasks involves until I research them, but the tasks will be constructed using the available java api which is normally very good for all security related issues. -- Sincerely, Hitek Software |
