Subject Is the French Locale Supported?
Date   03/28/2006
Message Hello,

I am testing ableftp and jasftp but i have a problem with the ftp and sftp browser.

The ftp server ( HPUX or AIX ) are in French for the date. Therefore the names in the window of the remote server are not good.

Have you a solution to get the right name even if the remote server is in French locale ? Thank you for your answer

Reply1 Hi Frederic,

Thanks for evaluating JaSFtp. We currently only support English locale. 1) When you say the names in the window of the remote server are not good, do you mean the File modified Dates shown is incorrect? 2) Or do you mean the name of the full path to the server directory?

Reply2 Hi,

Thank you for your answer. ableftp or Jasftp have good features. But for my problem I mean: the full path is good. but the name is not good for example in the column "Name " instead of "tmp" j get "uin 17:42 tmp". When i click on "uin 17:42 tmp" nothing is happened. Also the column "modified" is wrong too, I get "Dec 31,0002 12:00:00 AM" for all the row.

thank you.

Reply3 Hi Frederic,

1. This generally means that AbleFtp cannot parse the directory listing that the ftp server is providing. For the Ftp profile, you can try and play with the Directory Listing Style. If both the SFtp and Ftp give the same problem then the issue is most likely with the Ftp/SFtp server not providing the listing in a standardized format.

2. Does this problem only occur for the browser, or does the Automated tasks also fail for both ftp and sftp tasks?
