user support request:

Despite our extensive testing after purchasing AutoKrypt, we are unable to achieve consistent results when using the scheduler service to decrypt files on our 2000 server. I would also note that we have modified the location of the keys and added the environment variable to enable us to run the service with a service account as opposed to logged on user.

Additional info as follows:

After making a new decryption task it is tests successfully via the GUI interface. The task is then scheduled and GUI is closed and the user logs off. I will attempt to outline the different occurrences that we have encountered from there. These occurrences are random and have occurred multiple times during testing.

* The scheduled task will fail with (error 2 keys not found)
* The scheduled task does not run, after going into the GUI, it actually shows it never was scheduled.
* The scheduled task appears to run. Upon inspection of our test folder called decrypt, it deletes the file that was there, but never creates the new decrypted version. (very unusual behavior)

* The scheduled task works correctly most times with the GUI open.

In summary, we desperately need this solution to work nightly to decrypt incoming FTP files. I'm hoping there is further diagnostics you can assist us with to resolve these issues. I realize you may need additional info as well and will work with you to get anything you need. I look forward to your feedback.

if your logged on user account is an admin account, then that is the preferable account to start the service with.. this way you will get the same user context being used whether the engine is started in desktop context or in service context and have less issues to deal with.

send us your support files using the help menu / email support generator. select the task in the tasks to analyze field. then click on the ZIP button and email us the support.zip file.
