| I am putting Able on a Vista machine and the install went well. Updated to 7.26 patch. I am trying to register the 7.x service and getting a "DllRegisterServer in SvcIt.ocx failed. Return code was: 0x80040200". How can I resolve this? Also, when I try to install the service, and click on NT Service Module, no window pops up. Any help would be great! Thanks. |

This is a known erratically occurring issue with Vista and regsvr32.exe. regsvr32.exe is trying to register the NT service control. We are trying to resolve this, or document workarounds to register the control. We will update this thread this week.
The NT service module window will only show once the control is successfully registered. |

unfortunately, we have not been able to work on vista / NT service last week, since we were swamped with DST issues and copy/synchronize task bug.
Both above issues seem to be resolved and we will work on this issue this week. I will let you know on this topic, when we have a fix for this. |

1) I'm surprised you could install AbleFtp on Vista. We only have an Automize installer for Vista on our site. On our Vista test systems only the Vista Specific Automize installer works on Vista. We will release Vista installers for AbleFtp, AutoKrypt, JaSFtp this week.
2) To be able to register the NT service control, You should
a) Shutdown engine and user interface
b) Launch the user interface using 'Run as Administrator'. (right mouse click on the Launcher icon)
c) Register the 7.x control.
d) Open the NT service module
e) Install the service
f) Open service control manager
g) Start the service
YOU SHOULD ALWAYS LAUNCH THE USER INTERFACE USING "Run as Administrator" so that the user interface and engine are on the same page. To do this:
Right mouse click on the Launcher Icon
Properties Menu
Compatibility Tab
Select Option to 'Run as Administrator'. |
