Using a mac g5 with the latest OS.

if the mac is configured to go to sleep - will JaBack wake up the computer to do the backup? Or, if the computer is sleeping, will JaBack fail to start?

also, must JaBack be running (in the dock) for the backup to initiate?

thanks

JaBack and all the other programs consist of
1) the user interface
2) an engine that runs in the background and runs tasks

you can shut down the user interface and the engine will continue to run in the background, i.e. it will run tasks

On MacOSX in sleep mode, tasks will not run unless you setup the engine to run as a service.

In the 'platform specific issues' forum, we have service setup instructions for Linux but not for mac. We will add these instructions for mac on the 'platform specific issues' forum.
