I have a task that connects to one PC and is supposed to move files in a directory to the PC running AbleFTP. The file gets copied over but does not delete it from the source.
From the AbleFTP pc I can delete files manually in the source directory of other pc without error so I know I have the correct rights.

Here is he Variable:

Variables file path = C:\Program Files\AbleFtp8\data\variables\File_Retrieve
File_Retrieve::PassFilename = 1
File_Retrieve::CopyFailed = 0
File_Retrieve::LastScheduledRun = Aug 26, 2009 9:24:00 AM
File_Retrieve::LastRunStartTime = Aug 26, 2009 9:32:49 AM
File_Retrieve::PassDate = 1
File_Retrieve::LastRunEndTime = Aug 26, 2009 9:32:50 AM
File_Retrieve::FailRename = 0
File_Retrieve::DeleteFailed = 1
File_Retrieve::LastScheduledRunExitCode = 1
File_Retrieve::ForceCopy = 0
File_Retrieve::TotalFiles = 1
File_Retrieve::IsRunning = false
File_Retrieve::TargetDirectory = E:\Invoices\Received\Inbox\File #90
File_Retrieve::LastRunInstance = 6
File_Retrieve::FilesCopied = 1
File_Retrieve::Instance = 6
File_Retrieve::ExitCode = 1
File_Retrieve::SourceOlder = 0
File_Retrieve::FailedFilenames = NO_FAILED_FILENAMES
File_Retrieve::LastRunRunTime = 391
File_Retrieve::NextScheduledRun = Aug 26, 2009 9:44:00 AM
----
And here is the Tasklog:
Aug 26, 2009 10:19:39 AM

which version of 8.x is this? 8.20 etc?
are the below settings accurate? I will test with these settings:
action = move
filename field = Esker_VSI_Fax-Recommended_Fax_Hardware.pdf
rename field = test.pdf

actual filename = Esker_VSI_Fax-Recommended_Fax_Hardware.pdf

We are using 8.10

Sorry the "real" name is the Esker_VSI_Fax-Recommendd_Fax_Hardware.pdf. I thought I changed all of them for posting purposes.

I followed the instructions to update to the latest versio (8.24) and we are still having the problem of AbleFTP not removing the source file.

It copies just fine but does not delete it from the original location.

Outside of AbleFTP from the same PC I can manually delete it so I know its not a rights issue.

we could not reproduce your issue.

Try the following tests:
1) Try using the rename mode with filename change
2) Try using move mode with no filename change
3) Create a Delete task against the file/folder. can the delete task delete a file in this folder?

do any of above work?

1)I am not sure what you are saying. I edited the task to be Optino=rename files but all it did was copy it.
2)Is how it has been setup. I am not renaming files. I am simply trying to move it from one computer to another.
3)It doesn't work.

If I may, I had a similar issue with AbleFTP, the cause was that the source FTP folder on the remote server didnt have a "write" permission set (in MS Windows 2003 Server), once I've changed that, AbleFTP could delete source files without any probs.

It's windows xp (both machines) connected to domain with same domain admin rights. Also, I can manually (open explorer and navigate to folder) delete the files.

so to summarize:
1) the move action in the copy task fails to delete the source file after the target file has been created/copied.
2) A delete task fails to delete any files in this folder.

are you using NT service?
is the engine user account same as your normal logon account?
