We recently upgraded from JasFTP7 to Automize 8 and are on patch level 8.07.

Recently many of our tasks are failing in our production and non-production environments with the following error:

Code:
A previous instance of this task is running.  This instance will stop immediately. To change overlap behaviour, use Synchronization feature

When we receive this error we restart the FTP engine process and it resolves the issue for about 1 day. However the tasks seem so slow down and we encounter this error - as result our files do not get transmitted.

Below I have included a sample task log illustrating this behavior. Note that the task "SO_RELEASE" is a FTP "get" task and it's taking several minutes in between steps performed as part of this single tasks.

In the log below it looks a though the remote server connection may have timed out (at 9:38:27) and subsequent executions of the task failed due a prior instance of the task being running still.

We require only a single instance of our tasks to be running at one time but expect these to be completing quickly (we did not have this issue prior to upgrading from JasFTP 7 to Automize 8 ). Please advise if this is a known issue and if you would recommend we install the latest patches available after version 8.07.

Thanks,
Jeremy

seems like the task continues to run after the closed connection, and does so very slowly. This is causing the issue.

Do the following:
1) update to the latest version 8.11.
2) create a maintainance restart task to run nightly. Your engine seems to be overloaded.
3) Create the same task using FTP-j module and schedule this task instead. See if it performs better.

we will add an option in the FTP/FTP-j/SFTP/SFTP-j tasks in 8.12 to allow user option to exit the task if an error is detected (in this case closed connection).
