hi,
i'm using Automize 8 on a MacOsX 10.5 machine. this machine has access to a Windows Server 2003. i have set up different automize-jobs, which are transfering data from the machine to the server-volumes or from the server-volumes to the machine.
the problem: if the server has been resetted or the mac has lost connection to the lan, i have to replace all volume-names, because they are expanded with an counter.
example: the correct volume name is "production" -> after a reboot of the server or a interruption of the lan the volume name is "production-1", next time it is "production-2", thereafter "production-3" and so on. it counts up, which is very nerving, because these volume-links to not work and i have to replace dozens of jobs each time.
can anyone give me a clue to help me?
thanks in advance,
peter |

You could set a user variable using a variable set task:
servername = production-2
in each task, you would refer to this variable for the path
/$%servername%$/test.....
it is still manual but here you would have to replace just one task when the name changes. |
