|
|
Hi guys
An idea we've had is assigning each Task a UID rather than using the Task Title to perform this function, and use the Task Title more as a display name in a similar way to (for example) Active Directory and SID's corresponding to account & display names.
Not every member of our support teams have touched Automize before, so we name tasks according to the function they're performing so it's intuitive for our support staff. If our customer requests a particular task within a chain to copy files rather than move then we'd rename the task accordingly, to keep things consistent. This breaks the chain as the Task Title is referenced within the chain. If a UID was used then the Task Title could be autoupdated, and we wouldn't need to re-add the task in with it's new title and reconfigure the run order, exit code checking, re-run times etc
Just a passing thought
Cheers

That is a good suggestion but maybe fairly difficult to do. i.e. lots of reconfiguring of code.
However, we will try and modify the rename code to look for existing schedules to point to renamed task. Similarly look inside task sequences and rename the step to the new task title. |
