|
|
| We are using Automize9 for Windows platform. There seems to be something wrong with the display of the schedule list (schedule tab). The schedule listings are somtimes truncated. We also notice that the listing are sometimes center aligned instead of left aligned. I will be emailing screen shots for your reference. We have been having this issue since version 9.02. |

| Which Operating system are you using? Try updating to 9.04 with the full installer. Uninstall 9.02 and install 9.04 using full windows installer (not patch update). That uses the latest java which is 1 year newer than the java packaged with 9.02 |

| Window 2003 SP2. We installed Automize 9.04 using the 9.04 full installer from scratch. |

| I have also re-installed a laptop running Windows Vista home premium completely from scratch with Automize 9 using the full installer (mize.exe). The same effect was also encountered on this laptop. |

What were the screen size and resolutions?
Is the System default language setting English?
Are you using java or windows look and feel? (settings menu / settings menuitem / Platform look) |

For our server (Windows 2003 sp2) the display settings are:
Screen resolution=2880 by 900
Colour=16bit
Language=English(US)
For the automize setting Platform look=Java
(It is the same even if we use platform look=Windows or platform look=SystemDefault or platform look=CDEMotif)

| If the schedule consist of one level of folders, it will be ok. The truncations occurs only when there is a second level of folders. The second level folders will appear truncated. |

hi support team, were you guys able to isolate the cause?
It is quite simple to simulate the error. Just create the following folder ...\data\schedules\LEVEL1\LEVEL2TESTING
The second level folder will appear truncated in the GUI. This happens for all the 'platform look' options Java, Windows and CDEMotif. |

No, I could not reproduce the problem. I even did a 3rd level and it displays correctly in the gui.
1152x864 , 32 bit , and other display sizes do not have any issues either. |

| windows 7, xp, vista, 2000, 2003, 2008. Pretty much every windows version we have not seen this issue. However, I would not be surprised if there are issues. Different libraries (java, c# etc..) render the user interface different, depending on the system and its display properties. Nothing much we can do about it. |

We were really really really hoping for a cure. Now rather disappointed that there is no solution
I still do not understand why only our installation schedule tab is having this issue. Assuming it is due to differences in libraries, etc., as you have pointed out, we would expect our Task tab to be similarly affected. But not. The Task tab is well displayed.
We were guessing maybe there is a new process in the display processing for the schedule tab that does center alignment which is not similary there in the Task tab display processing or in display processing of older version of Automize. We though it was this additional align center process that is causing this affect we are encountering.
Just two last question: – Is there any difference between how aligment is done in schedule tab displaying for Automize 9 compared to Automize 8? Do you agree that folder listing are left align in the Task tab display of Automize 9 and Schedule tab display of older version but Center align in the schedule tab display of Automize 9?
Do note that it is not the schedule listings that are truncated. It is the folder names that are truncated. And it is only when these folder names are longer that 20 characters that it becomes apparent.
Thanks for all the help and replies. |
