Automize does not launch on MacOSX 10.3

Postby melvin » Thu Jul 27, 2006 5:25 pm

This is an issue reported by one of our users:

Automize bounces in the dock a few times then just stops. The problem seems to be something with Java. Just did a clean install of 10.3. Please advise.

1) This is an issue between our installer and the operating system.

2) Please try and click on the Automize7 icon in the Applications/Automize7 folder. Generally, if it launches correctly once, then clicking on the icon in the dock will subsequently work.

3) Make sure you have all the software updates (MacosX updated as well as java updated)

4) Use a script or start Automize7 from a terminal using the following 2 lines of code:

cd /Applications/Automize7

/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.4.2/Home/bin/java -cp .:help:activation.jar:bsh.jar:hitek7.jar:jakoro.jar:jh.jar:mail.jar:maverick-all.jar:net.jar com.hitek.gui.Automize

please confirm the correct Automize7 folder and java 1.4.2 location on your system before running the above code.

NOTE: the commandline starting with /System/..... and ending with ...com.hitek.gui.Automize should be all on one line

Also in recent 7.x versions there is a launcher in the Automize7 folder called 'Automize'. It uses the default 'java' to launch Automize.

From a terminal:
cd /Applications/Automize7
./Automize

The launcher has the following code:
java -cp .:help:activation.jar:bsh.jar:hitek7.jar:jakoro.jar:jh.jar:mail.jar:maverick-all.jar:net.jar com.hitek.gui.Automize
